A Martins Ferry man is in custody after he stole an SUV from the Martins Ferry recreation center with the keys still inside. Police say he led them on a chase that reached speeds up to 95 mph on Route 7.

During the chase, the SUV hit another vehicle, but the man continued trying to get away on only three tires.

Police say he got off the 48th Street exit in Bellaire, crashing into another SUV, ending the pursuit.

He was taken into custody. Police say he was intoxicated. No one was injured.

Martins Ferry, Bridgeport and Bellaire Police Departments, plus the Ohio State Highway Patrol were involved in the pursuit.
