Two people were sent to the hospital after an accident in Jefferson County early Tuesday morning.
The accident happened just before 7 a.m. at the State Route 7 and State Route 213 intersection, near the 213 rest stop. Only one vehicle was involved.
Officials with the Ohio State Highway Patrol say two people were inside the vehicle at the time of the accident. They were both flown by medical helicopter to Pittsburgh. Troopers say the driver failed to maneuver a turn, which led to the accident.
OSHP believes alcohol and drugs may have been contributing factors to the crash based on what they found in the vehicle.
The identities of the occupants are not known at this time. The investigation is ongoing.
