A Wheeling officer stopped a car for a routine traffic stop shortly after 1 p.m. on Tuesday in East Wheeling.

When speaking to the occupants, the officer smelled an odor of marijuana, prompting a search of the vehicle.

Discovered inside was a large amount of cocaine and crack cocaine, more than $2,000 in cash, a firearm, and instruments used to weigh narcotics.

David Anthony Richardson-Young, 32 of Martinsburg, W.Va., is charged with felon in possession of a firearm and possession with intent to deliver.

He was arrested, arraigned by an Ohio County Magistrate and taken to the Northern Regional Jail.
