At least two priests named in a shocking Pennsylvania report concerning the molesting of more than 1,000 children had local ties.
Father Raymond Lukac worked for the Wheeling-Charleston Catholic Diocese, assigned to a church in Clarksburg in 1964.
According to the report, the assignment came even after church authorities discovered Lukac had secretly married a teen parishioner who was pregnant.
It’s believed Lukac died in 2000, and was never charged with any crime.
Also, uncovered in the report, David Dzermejko, a former priest convicted of sex crimes, brought some of those victims to Wheeling. He was also convicted in 2014 for possession of child pornography and was to serve 3 years in prison, but was gravely ill.
