One Steubenville City Councilman is taking matters into his own hands when it comes to the mounting water problems that the city faces.

First Ward Councilman Gerald DiLoreto has drafted a letter to send to the office of Governor John Kasich and Congressman Bill Johnson regarding Steubenville’s water issues. The letter is requesting that the state’s rainy day fund pay for the cost of the complete overhaul of the water infrastructure.

DiLoreto is hopeful that the state comes to their senses and helps prevent a potential water crisis from getting out of hand.

A complete overhaul of the entire water infrastructure could cost upwards of $29 million dollars.
