The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office discovered 100 marijuana plants in the Colerain area.

Earlier this month, 2,600 plants were found in the county.

Sheriff Lucas says this is just another effort in tackling the drug epidemic.

His major concern right now is an upcoming issue on the ballot in November which would reduce the number of people in state prisons for low-level, non-violent crimes, such as drug possession.

Voters will get to decide on Issue 1 on Nov. 6.

Meanwhile, Lucas says the marijuana sweeps will continue.

No arrests have been made; it’s still under investigation.
