An arrest has been made regarding the series of bizarre explosions heard in Follansbee on Tuesday that had officials questioning the source of the noise.

22-year old Nicholas DeStefano was arrested and charged with five counts of felony, illegal possession of explosive devices and five felony counts of wanton endangerment.

Four loud booms, three in the south Follansbee area and one in the Highland Hills area were heard by residents. That led police on the search for the source. Follansbee Police say after three initial calls, they found remnants of explosives.

The arrest of DeStefano was largely due to the individual’s posts on social media. DeStefano is currently booked in the Northern Regional Jail waiting on his arraignment.
