The Wheeling Suspension Bridge had to be shut down briefly yesterday morning after police found a man trying to climb one of its cables.

The man, who claimed to be a bridge inspector, eventually made his way back down around 8 a.m.

Gregory Tyler Anderson, of Fairmont, was arrested for public intoxication and trespassing.

He was released on a personal recognizance bond, pending a court appearance.
