The state investigation into an officer-involved fatal shooting near Martins Ferry is complete.
In May, a Belmont County Sheriff’s Deputy and a Martins Ferry Police Officer were involved in the fatal shooting of 59-year-old Kevin Nickle.
Police were called to the home on Washington Boulevard after receiving reports that Nickle was chasing family members inside with a knife.
Sheriff Dave Lucas said officers tased Nickle. The situation escalated and then lethal force was used.
Jill Del Greco with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office said that no charges will be filed against the two officers, as the Belmont County Grand Jury did not return an indictment.
