One of two brothers who pleaded guilty to a May 2017 murder on Wheeling Island was sentenced yesterday in an Ohio County courtroom.

Jordan Davis was sentenced to 35 years in prison for the killing of 41-year-old Ahmid Hinton.

Judge David Sims listed Davis’ prior offenses — a felony, and 13 misdemeanors, with four of them being violent. He has also been on probation six times.

Jordan’s brother, DeAndre, who has also pleaded guilty to the crime, has yet to be sentenced because he’s finishing another sentence for an unrelated crime.

Surveillance footage from the night of the shooting was shown in court. Later, the graphic footage shows a car driving by and gunshots fired.

In August, Jordan Davis entered an Alford Plea, in which he did not admit to the crime but knew that the evidence was stacked against him.
