The implosion of the smoke stack near the AEP Kammer Plant in Moundsville happened around 7:45 yesterday morning.

The nearby area was secured. Officials say, parts of Route 2 and Route 7 were both closed while the structure came crashing down, a crash that people felt for miles.

The demolition alarmed some residents who were unaware that a demolition was going to take place.

In fact, none of the nearby residents were notified about the implosion at all. When we asked officials why, they said the contractor working for the property owner didn’t want any public information released.
