New Businesses to Move into Former Kmart Store at Ohio Valley Mall

Two new businesses will fill the former Kmart space at the Ohio Valley Mall. Candi Noble-Greathouse, mall marketing director says the announcement will be made sometime early next year. Belmont County Commissioners worked with the Cafaro Company, along with mall staff, to find something to fill the void. Kmart closed in January 2017. Traffic Stop Leads to Drug Bust in Belmont Co.

A traffic stop in Bellaire led to drugs and the arrest of two people. Kara Grose, 20, of Wheeling and Cory Smith, 32, of Cleveland were taken into custody after a traffic stop Wednesday night. Belmont County Sheriff Dave Lucas says Grose was the driver. She was taken into custody for driving under suspension and obstruction of justice. Smith was later arrested at a home on Belmont Street. Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston Releases List of Priests Accused of Abuse

The Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston has released the names of 31 priests credibly accused of abuse against minors. One list included priests who were accused while serving in Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston, and one for clergy who served in it at some point, but were credibly accused elsewhere. The list was developed with the help of outside counsel and then reviewed by the Diocesan Lay Review Board and can be updated at any time. Two Arrested in Drug Bust in Richland Twp.

Two people were arrested in a drug bust in Richland Township, including a Cleveland man who is no stranger to law enforcement. The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant at a home on Willow Grove Road, seizing 7 grams of heroin, drug paraphernalia, and more than $1,000 in cash. George Thompson, 30, and 20-year-old Lawanda Wills were taken into custody. Thompson was on active parole — the third time he has been arrested here in the last four years.
