A police pursuit that began on I-70 eastbound near the rest area in Morristown ended along Ohio 7 near Bellaire after police used a pit maneuver to stop the suspect.

Lt. James Faunda with the Ohio State Highway Patrol said the vehicle, a red Ford Ranger, was driving erratically when they attempted an initial stop.

Faunda says the driver of the truck tried to evade them, even driving the wrong way on Route 7.

The Belmont County Sheriff’s Office used the pit maneuver to stop the truck on Route 7 northbound in Bellaire.

The truck struck the median, landing on its roof. Two people were inside, a male driver and female passenger. They suffered what appeared to be minor injuries and were taken into custody.

Law enforcement is searching the truck to determine if any more charges will be filed.
