Bridgeport residents are speaking out about the trash piling up for the past two weeks.

Mayor Dave Smith blamed it on the inability to locate a CDL driver at a wage the village can afford to pay.

Meanwhile, residents said there’s been no trash pick-up, but they’re still paying their bill.

Mayor Smith urged anyone with a CDL license who wants to work as a combination driver and laborer, to apply at the city building.

He indicated that at this point, village employees are picking up trash and hauling it away in dump trucks, which is time-consuming.
