An oversized load hit a railroad bridge in Powhatan Point yesterday morning, dislodging a beam, and tying up traffic along State Route 7.

Police say the truck even hit a spring beam underneath the railroad bridge causing it to crack.

Railroad traffic had to be rerouted as well.

Police say it is a recurring theme — trucks hitting the yellow beams — even as the height clearance is posted on a sign.

The mayor says they may have to install flashing lights.

No injuries were reported. The Ohio State Highway Patrol and the Ohio Department of Transportation were also on scene.
