An investigation is underway after police say a Wheeling man caused a disturbance over the weekend.

According to a report from Wheeling Police, Craig Hooper, 33, was rummaging through someone’s car on the 2300 block of National Road around 4:30 Saturday evening.

When police arrived on scene and tried to arrest Hooper, they say he resisted.

After reportedly fighting with police, he was eventually arrested on charges for breaking and entering into an automobile and obstructing an officer.

Police say Hooper could be linked to other theft related crimes in that area.

He’s currently awaiting arraignment at the Northern Regional Jail.
