One person was injured following a dispute early Christmas morning in Wintersville.

According to a report from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, a dispute among neighbors began along Talbot Drive over a flashlight.

The owner of that flashlight, Peter Demos, was charged with felonious assault, after allegedly stabbing his neighbor with what was described as a butcher-style knife in the Big Lots parking lot.

The neighbor was taken to a Pittsburgh hospital, where he had surgery to repair tendons and an artery. He is said to be in stable condition.

Demos was handcuffed and taken to the Jefferson County Jail.
