A Wheeling man is in jail after attacking a man with a rock.

Officers were dispatched around 8 p.m. on Tuesday to 15th Street in East Wheeling. Upon arrival, they found a person injured on the street, who reportedly stated that another man had beaten him with a rock before fleeing.

Police say the victim required medical attention.

Not long after speaking with the victim did officers locate and arrest the suspect.

Thomas Edward Kenny, 58 of Wheeling, was brought into custody and charged with one count of malicious assault. He was taken to the Northern Regional Jail, and is awaiting arraignment.
