Thomas Smith allegedly made terroristic threats toward students, prompting a lockdown of Martins Ferry schools in early December.
In making the alleged threats, though, Smith violated his probation. He was already facing drug charges when they were made.
Martins Ferry police say the charges stem from a Facebook conversation between Smith, claiming to be someone else, and an ex-girlfriend.
He made a threat toward the children, the threat prompted a lockdown at Martins Ferry Schools.
Judge John Vavra of the Belmont County Court of Commons Pleas decided to remove community control sanctions for Smith.
He was sentenced to 12 months for the original charges. Smith will remain behind bars as he awaits trial on the new charges.
