A possible cut to 911 funding was discussed at yesterday’s Brooke County Commissioners’ meeting.

Currently, the 911 center receives its funding based on landline and wireless caller fees. However, the newly-introduced Senate Bill 289 could change that by taking a percentage of the money accumulated from wireless callers.

Commissioner Stacey Wise reviewed the bill, and she believes once it’s re-worded, the county won’t see any major difference in terms of funding.
