The Noble County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) released new details about the gas line explosion that occurred in Noble County earlier this week.

The incident injured two people, who were treated and released from a local hospital. It also damaged three homes, two barns, and one other building.

The gas line, which is owned by Enbridge, exploded on Monday along Smithberger Road near Summerfield.

The EMA said two other lines in the area have been shut down while the investigation continues.

It could be months before the explosion’s cause is identified.

In the meantime, air quality is being monitored, and Smithberger Road will remain closed indefinitely due to road damage.
