Pothole problems are scattered across U.S. 22 in Weirton.

More than 12 cars were affected by the major potholes heading eastbound and westbound between the Three Springs Drive and Harmon Creek exits on Wednesday evening.

A representative of the West Virginia Department of Transportation said once they received multiple calls about the number of incidents, crews were sent out to patch up some of the bigger holes.

They returned later in the night to fix even more problems within that area.

Drivers are cautioned to watch the area closely as more potholes are likely to develop due to the weather.
