Tuesday night, results came in on several 2019 municipal elections in West Virginia’s Northern Panhandle.

Weirton’s mayoral race resulted in incumbent mayor Harold Miller winning with 79% of the vote.

Weirton also had several council races on the ballot:

Incumbent winners include Tim Connell for Ward One, Mike Adams for Ward Two, and Terry Weigel for Ward Seven, while Flora Perrone is the new councilwoman for the Fifth Ward.

In Follansbee, the only contested race was for Fifth Ward council seat, and it was a close one with 67 votes for winner Wendy Deangelis.

In Wellsburg, the Fifth Ward city council seat was won by Della Serevicz.

In Bethany’s mayoral race, Shirley Kemp defeated Thomas Furbee by 45 votes to claim the mayor’s seat.

Bethany’s five city council seats up for election were taken by Patrick Sutherland, Jan Forsty, Hellen Moren, Sydma Hatzopoulos, and Lindsey Gilbert-Tredway.

Finally, in Bethlehem, the mayoral race was won by Don Junkins, with 284 votes to Chuck Griffin’s 190.

Also in Bethlehem, it was a close race for the second Ward council seat. Judi Kirker is the unofficial winner with 229 votes.
