Columbus Murder Suspect Arrested in Wheeling

 An Ohio man wanted on multiple charges – including murder – was arrested in Wheeling on Tuesday. Jordyn Preston, 20, was wanted in the December 2017 murder of his then-girlfriend’s father in Columbus. Preston is also accused of shooting his girlfriend that night. She survived her injuries. In March 2018, Preston was arrested by the U.S. Marshals in Springfield, Ohio, but was released on $500,000 bond 4 months later. He violated the conditions of his bond by failing to appear for scheduled court appearances and was arrested Tuesday at the intersection of York and Zane Street on Wheeling Island....

Harrison Co. Drops Drug Possession Charge Against Steelers RB Benny Snell

A dismissed possession of marijuana charge in Harrison County may prove costly for Pittsburgh Steelers rookie running back Benny Snell. As first reported by the Harrison News-Herald, Snell was pulled over for speeding on U.S. 250 near Tappan Lake on Aug. 30. He was clocked driving 68 miles per hour in 55 mph zone. When a Harrison County deputy approached Snell’s vehicle, the deputy reported he could smell marijuana. Snell admitted that he had smoked marijuana 20 minutes before being pulled over. A West Virginia state senator facing charges in a prostitution ring has a trial date set for December. Mike Maroney, who was arrested in a prostitution case that netted 27 people in Marshall County, faces a trial date of December 13. He signed a waiver and did not appear in court on Wednesday. Buckeye Local Teacher Faces Several Accounts of Sexual Abuse

A teacher with Buckeye Local School District who also taught private piano lessons is in custody at the Jefferson County Justice Center. Ronald ‘Shane’ Burkhead was arrested by deputies on Monday, accused of sexual misconduct. According to Jefferson Co. Sheriff Fred Abdalla, two teen boys reported they were sexually abused in some way. As of now, Burkhead is facing charges of sexual battery, sexual conduct with minors, pandering obscenity and importuning charges for soliciting a minor to engage in a sexual act.
