An accident tied up traffic on Lawson Avenue just before 6 p.m. A driver struck a power pole and knocked it over. As a result, that pole hit another pole; taking down all the power lines in-between.
Over 700 customers were without electricity spanning the Pleasant Heights area.
Perhaps the biggest inconvenience was that the road remained closed to traffic, preventing entrance from the Lawson Avenue on-ramp or at the intersection of Belleview Boulevard.
The driver was not injured, and Lawson Ave. was reopened, and power was back on roughly four hours after it went out, around 10 p.m.
