Wheeling Hospital continues to ramp up security measures after a scary situation a few months ago.
In August, a man shot and killed himself in an emergency room at the hospital. After the incident, hospital CEO Doug Harrison decided a security upgrade was necessary.
Since the incident, the first move was to bring in more law enforcement. Harrison says the hospital has a request for proposal to consider emergency room metal detectors.
He said that he hopes to have all these new security measures in place sometime after the first of the year.
