Construction on the new 500,000-gallon water tank is complete in St. Clairsville.

It will serve the east end of the city and allow for future expansion of the 95 acres nearby.

It can hold 500,000 gallons of water that will be supplied to future businesses on Commons Mall Crossing Road and beyond.  City Service Director Jim Zucal says it was a $1.5-million project.

To cover the cost, the city received loan money from county commissioners, and grants from the Ohio Public Works Commission and the Appalachian Regional Commission.

The new water tank is set to go online Feb. 5.
