Residents in New Cumberland have been upset about Route 2 for years, and now their voices have been heard.
A public comment period turned up an almost unanimous response when officials asked for the public’s input about what they hope will be done.
The public comment turned up 184 responses that stated a preferred option for Route 2. Of that number, 183 of the 184 said they want traffic off of Ridge Avenue because the heavy truck traffic has caused slips and damage.
Commissioners will be meeting with DOH representatives and local leaders on Jan. 27 in Charleston. They are hoping to take a plan and timeline from that meeting.
