People in Paden City are again dealing with contamination problems with their water.

Last month, the water authority sent a notice to residents saying the PCE level in their water was almost three times the federal limit.

Now, a congressman is getting involved.

Congressman David McKinley met with Governor Jim Justice earlier Monday, trying to come up with a short-term solution to the Paden City water crisis.

Long term, the USDA will be installing new air strippers at the water treatment plant, but that will take a few months to finish.

McKinley says they’ll take a hard look at short-term solutions to make sure residents can at least use water with some peace of mind. He expects to have an answer on the toxicity of the water in the next few days.
