Two tornadoes were confirmed to have touched down in the Ohio Valley on Thursday evening.

The first hit the ground in New Athens.

The second reached the surface in the Wintersville area.

In both cases, houses were ripped apart and trees and power lines were downed.

The same held true with Bantam Ridge Road in Wintersville, where power lines and tree limbs were scattered across the roadway.

Police are rerouting traffic on Bantam Ridge due to the amount of debris and power lines littering the roadway. They say to avoid the area unless you live on the road.

No injuries were reported in either area.
